Stupid Customers

Customer: “Excuse me, miss – what size are you?”

Me: “Excuse me?”

Customer: “I want to buy these pants for my granddaughter, my dear, and she’s about your size.”

Me: “Oh, well…the jeans I’m wearing right now are from this store, and they’re a size 4.”

Customer: “WELL! She is certainly not that fat!”

Me: “Um, well, sometimes people carry their weight differently. Perhaps she would fit in a size 2 better?”

Customer: “My dear, I didn’t mean to offend you – you’re not too fat. My granddaughter is small. And a big hussy. That’s why I want to buy her new pants. She looks like such a tramp.”

Me: “…”

Customer: “I suppose maybe I’ll just buy her a blouse instead.”

Stupid Customers

Me: “Hi, what can I get for ya?”

Customer: “Yeah, um…do you guys serve breakfast?”

Me: “Oh no, sorry, we only serve brunch on Sundays. We have bagels and pastries in the case right there.” *pointing*

Customer: “Hmm, no, I really wanted breakfast.”

Me: “Sorry, it’s just Sundays.”

Customer: “But I smell bacon!”

Me: “Yeah, the cook is in the back prepping for the day, and we have some sandwiches with bacon on them.”

Customer: “I smell bacon! You serve breakfast! I want a hot breakfast!”

Me: “Uh, no… just brunch on Sundays. Our lunch starts at 11:00am if you want to come back.”

Customer: “NO! I smell bacon and I want breakfast now!” *storms out*

Me: “…”

Stupid Customers

Me: “**** Pizza, **** speaking. How can I help you?”

Customer: “Hi, I need directions to your store.”

Me: “OK, we’re located at **** Drive and **** Street.”

Customer: “So, if I come out of my driveway, do I turn left or right? East or West?

Me: “Uh… do you have a computer?”

Customer: “Yes, but why?”

Me: “Well, there’s this website, Mapquest.com–they should be able to help you.”

Customer: “Oh, well how do I get to Mapquest? Left or right?”

Stupid Customers

Me: “Thank you for calling *** Communications, how can I help you?”

Caller: “Yeah, my cable box in my bed room is not working.”

Me: “Okay, I can talk a look at that for you. How is it not working?”

Caller: “Look, I just want to watch Eragon in my room…”

(I finally figure out that the box will not take the signal we are sending.)

Me: “It looks like we will need to get a tech out there to replace the box.”

Caller: “Why”?

(I try to explain that the box is refusing the signal and that we need to switch the box. This goes on for five minutes before I give up and try an alternative answer…)

Me: “Um… the box has gone rogue and is no longer taking instructions from us. We need to bring it back in for training.”

Caller: “Oh, that makes sense! Why didn’t you just say that?”

Me: “…”
