Stupid Roommates

I have been living with my roomate for almost a year now. The last month has been hell. I dont have a job to pay rent, but I do work. For her that is. She will go to work at BlockBuster in a cool air conditioned place while I am mowing the lawn or cleaning the shrubs on the side of the house as part of her chore list. When she gets home she sits in the recliner and changes the channel without even asking me if I was watching tv or not. I am really hating her right now. On her days off she just puts me to work and watches me do it. In the kitchen she will make a big meal for herself and then tell me to clean it up. Pig she is! Her room and closet are filthy and who gets to clean it up…..ME! You would think she would help me out and maybe talk to her manager about getting me a job or soemthing. I dont know how much longer I can be her assistant.

I work at a transportation company in nothern California. I have been here for just over 4 years. Im a young person in my early twenties, and most of my co workers are female and between the ages of 50 and 65. With the exception of one woman, these other women are the most idiotic people I have ever met in my life. They do their jobs half assed and try to make me cover the rest. At the same time they are giving over their responsibilities to me they are talking about me non stop- about my clothes, tattoos, etc.. And how I dont understand their point of view because I am so young. They are completely conservative and close minded.

I used to be the Operations Manager for a large Mobile Health System (Ambulance company). OUr company offered many services including paramedics, 911 Basic Life Support (BLS) and non-emergency BLS (Taking people from the hospital to a nursing home or other long term care facility). My story revolves around 2 crews (4 people) who worked on one of our non-emergency BLS contracts with a local hospital.

I received a call one day from an off-duty police officer stating that he had witnessed the 4 people going into a movie theater….in uniform!!! According to police officer (who was in line behind the EMTs), the EMTs talked their way into getting into the movie without paying, and even requested free soda and popcorn.

Me: “Can I help you with anything sir?”

Customer: “Yes, I’m looking for some shrimp.”

Me: “Shrimp is in the seafood department, right over there.”

Customer: “See, I don’t want to boil them, I just want to barbecue them.”

Me: “Okay, well, they should be in the seafood department.”

Customer: “But I want to barbecue them. Could you get me a pound of shrimp?”

Me: “I’m sorry sir, we don’t have shrimp in the deli.”

Customer: “Why don’t you have any?”

Me: “We only have deli meat and cheese in the deli. The seafood department has shrimp, just over there.”

Customer: “Why?”

Me: “Because shrimp are seafood… they live in the sea.”

Customer: “… really?”
