I work in a seniors home so there's a lot of different staff; nurses, personal health care workers, dining staff, cleaning, maintenance, activities... everyone knows each other and chats when there's a spare moment, but for some reason my boss just wont let our department mingle with the others. (this is where i think it roots from) She's always got a ton on her mind, so she tends to be short with people so she doesn't forget stuff, it doesn't make her popular.



Say i got 5 minutes until i have to set something up (i work in activities) or say while some guy is playing the piano and i don't have to be talking to the residents (tho i don't mind), we are NOT allowed to talk to other staff members. In fact no two of us are allowed to be in the same place at the same time. i cant understand why she wont let us chat, even though everyone else can. Then she'll basically tell you to "go away" if you try to chat with her. I've had numerous occasions when I've eaten in her office and she's just sat at her desk and stared at her screen, ignoring me... after she invited me!
