10/23/09: Stupid Bosses
I work in finance for a company in Manhattan. I have a boss who is really jealous of everyone around him and always tries to prove that he knows it all and he is the smartest person on the face of planet earth and I can tell you that he is far away from that. Beside his negative views regarding the economy, the world and the people, he is actually doesn't like anyone to live life or even exercise or even go home to have dinner with family...he just believe that if you work you have to over do it and if you eat you have to over do it as well.
Yesterday he called me to his office and started questioning my ability of understanding the business claiming that couple of the reports that I created few weeks ago aren't quite right and made him think again if "I get it". The normal response was "what did I do wrong in these reports?" He kept going left and right without clarifying what I did wrong and I kept asking him, I would like to know what I did because every thing I did was based on the data provided by him from his own work. At the end after long period of humiliating and criticizing me, my work and everything about me, he said "I thought the numbers I provided you were right but they weren't". At this moment, I got confused and told him so what you wanted me to do if your numbers were wrong and you asked me to get these reports done in less that 1 hour, he still insisted that I should have looked at the numbers and said that they don't make sense to me. So I told him, why they didn't make sense to you at the first place and you're the one who came up with them, he kept insisting that it was my mistake. Then I had to leave his office with great amount of anger and frustration.

ok where do i start...
first of all.
its like my boss is trying to make my life difficult, and hell, stressful, i do so much overtime and stay back, and do i get paid extra to work more or stay back? NO!. i dont. ok and besides that, i will be on the phone or doing something and he just shouts out my name. customer! or something, im oviously gonna come out the front and serve the customer but im not because im stuck on the phone or cant leave a computer because a really bad virus attack or burning system or something... ok, then it comes to lunch time, i dont get a decent break and dont even get to relax for that 30mins or whatever to eat my food, phone!!! customer!!!. ok you can see im eating, its my break... HE JUST DOESNT CARE!!!, or doesnt understand, i dunno wat it is... its just little things that are getting to me and starting to turn into bigger things, its ok when 1 or 2 happen then these 1 or 2 turn into bigger things and grab you and really annoy you, im currently really depressed and stressed out because i work fulltime 6 days a week because im trying to get my life back together and get a house and a car and life etc... and i am going thru all this shit for what?, its past 5 and my boss is still working not to mention he comes in @ like 11am everyday when i start at 8:00-8:30. yeah i know he is the boss. it never used to be so bitchie tho, ok check this out... everyone that calls the shop number or even my phone, he asked who it was, why they called and what is was regarding... ok WHAT FOR??? if it was imporant or for him or anything i would tell him, but customer calling to know a price and i have to explain this shit to him everytime, i have gotten to the point where it irritates me so much i just say my girlfriend or brother or mate. he wants me to serve every customer and do all the repairs, its too much for my shitty pay and wants me to fix his problems that he stuffs up his mistakes and then either take the credit for it or blame me or something... im getting to the point where im really gonna do something bout it. what do you think?

A coworker and good friend's brother passed away. Many people asked for time off to attend his funeral. Our general manager thought it was appropriate that she attend as well even though she barely knew the deceased.
She also thought it appropriate that all of her employees in attendance sit in a group to present a 'united front'. Against what? Death. She actually attempted to enforce this!
Had it not been such a solemn occasion I would have laughed right in her face. Who the fuck does she think she is?

09/13/09: Stupid Bosses
My boss is the most scatterbrained person I've ever known. He constantly changes plans halfway through tasks and wastes everyone's time with useless meetings because he likes to hear himself talk. He doesn't trust anything I say and usually asks me the same questions multiple times in a day. When he's in a rush, he rushes everyone else and thinks outloud until it's so painfully awkward I don't know what to say. Most of our conversations end with me saying "Ok, all set?" because when he stops talking he sits in my office staring at me. I hate my boss.

09/04/09: Stupid Bosses
The economy is in the tank and it is affecting everyone. We got hit and as a result cuts had to be made. This is very understandable. People were laid off; people had their hours and pay reduced. It sucks but that is life, but the week after I had my hours cut they turn around and purchase another company. They are also looking at more acquisitions 4 months after the first cuts and before sales bottoming out and after the 3 round of layoffs.
08/25/09: Stupid Bosses
I work in a seniors home so there's a lot of different staff; nurses, personal health care workers, dining staff, cleaning, maintenance, activities... everyone knows each other and chats when there's a spare moment, but for some reason my boss just wont let our department mingle with the others. (this is where i think it roots from) She's always got a ton on her mind, so she tends to be short with people so she doesn't forget stuff, it doesn't make her popular.
08/13/09: Stupid Bosses
This guys is a good actor, writes poems in company events and a shrewed incompetent executive in the company. He was an executive with a big company, got fired because of his incompetence and joined a startup which matured over years. This guy is an egomaniac, hates certain types of people and likes to party and drink, specially his newfound love of Russian baniya (or whatever it is called) parties. When he does not find a solution to a problem, he lies to his customers, who are paying millions of dollars to the company.
07/25/09: Stupid Bosses
She got promoted into the job as there's no one else available (She's been with the company for 10 years while I have been only been working here for 2 years). As part to the "bargain" to seal the deal of her taking over the Manager position, her relatives had to be given the boot. I can totally see where this is coming from the relatives are nice bunch but they don't pull their weight when it comes to work and are quite frequently sick and their departure gives her full reign to be the major bitch that she is.
She micro manages and her perspective is totally out of line with a normal person. She gives vague instructions and if a problem occurs it is because we did not listen to her???! She's away from taking any responsibility but if something good happens, she will vie for full credit. She is stingy but only on others, we are expected to DIY any repairs ourselves while she gets to splurge on luxuries in the name of Company.
Her idea of a gift to you is to either claim it from the Company or to give you discount vouchers that someone else passed to her and that she does not want it.
